Paola Lenti “In the Key of Colour” @ Salone Milan 2012

“In the Key of Colour” is an innovative Paola Lenti project in the international furnishings for exterior environments, because of both the high quality of the materials, and for its great versatility: a real chromatic revolution allowing for the choice among 500 new colour hues.

The solid colours of the exclusive technical yarn Rope are resistant to light and atmospheric agents. They can be combined each time in a different way to produce fabrics, cords and rugs offering today a really unique proposal.

Paola Lenti has studied, compared and selected dozens of colours and their hues: the new colour combinations introduced this year allow to choose the favourite tone, to match shades or to create the desired contrasts.

The chromatic and aesthetic possibilities introduced this year satisfy the most demanding styles, both classic and modern, and offer a choice of soft, clear and reassuring shades together with bright and vibrant colours.

The results that can be achieved with “In the Key of Colour” also include the use of already existing fabrics and materials, endlessly multiplying the possibilities; furthermore they allow to mix the new products to the classics of Paola Lenti Collections into a coherent set beyond time and fashion.

Anna Lenti, Marta Engelen, Paola Lenti

Since 1994 Paola Lenti has followed a coherent and dynamic entrepreneurial strategy based on research and experimentation which has led the Company to establish itself as an international reference in the world of design.

Turning the pages of a Paola Lenti catalogue is like discovering balanced and essential new design landscapes where opposites become complementary: past and present, interior and exterior, tradition and technology.

In this approach one can find a serene coexistence of seemingly diverse influences: where metal and wood structures are designed to be durable; where modern and comfortable interiors seating live side by side with the newest solutions for exteriors; where elegant hand-crocheted floral rugs are created with high-tech yarns.

Each design attributes its originality to the selection and creation of the material and to the simplicity of its forms. The pieces are created to be timeless in terms of quality, functionality, colour and aesthetics.

Paola Lenti presented several proposals and materials to better explore the world of colours and the sensory dimensions of the new products.

For indoor environments Paola Lenti proposes seating modules, sofas, armchairs and poufs which are designed with an essential style to offer comfort, ergonomics and aesthetics. The wide selection of upholstery fabrics and colours available is coordinated to the Felt, Area, Natural and High Tech rugs, allowing for the creation of spaces satisfying the most diverse requirements of seating, colours and style.

Home Collection introduces new solutions for the living area like Kimono (design Francesco Rota), a modular sofa offering great comfort, or Pillar (design Victor Carrasco) a sofa featured by countless sartorial details, and Ribbon (design Claesson Koivisto Rune with Studio Bestetti), a series of versatile large seating. ( product specific story will follow in a few days)

For the exteriors, Paola Lenti offers a complete collection of modular sofas, sun beds, platforms, pouf, armchairs, chairs and tables together with the wide range of High tech rugs, all resistant to water and atmospheric agents.

The quality of the materials used make them enduring and easy to maintain; the level of craftsmanship used in production allow for the creation of refined leisure areas for relaxing, not only in the exteriors but also in interior spaces.

Aqua Collection is further enhanced with elegant, comfortable and relaxing seating, swings, hammocks, shading structures together with new elements belonging to the already existing Afra, Cove and Canvas series.

The historical Felt rugs collection, one of the milestones in Paola Lenti production, is completely renewed with new colours and patterns which represent real masterpieces of handicraft and style. A particular attention is deserved to the new hand tufted and hand embroidered rugs for exterior environments, which, thanks to their extreme flexibility, can be really considered “custom” products

A responsible event, second year

Good ideas always give good results.

Paola Lenti continues her “Responsible event” project. This year too, part of the works done for the organisation of the event Fuorisalone in Milan, via San Barnaba 38, will be directed to restore some of the spaces and Renaissance gardens of I Chiostri dell’Umanitaria, a scenery of exceptional beauty which will host the new product of the 2012 collection.

Since 2011, the Company is committed to a restoration programme aimed to give back to the city this jewel, witness of the illuminated, cultivated and refined Lombard 16th Century. An operation which will not last only over the short period of the International Design Week but will continue in the years to come to allow all Milan inhabitants to enjoy the revival of this historical location.

In 2012 the commitment is focused on the restoration of the Auditorium, to enhance not only its appearance, with a new flooring which gives more warmth and harmony to the space, but also the quality of acoustics and illumination.

Furthermore, the complicated re-qualification of the outdoor areas continues, implying a new lighting system to emphasize and underline the magic of this fascinating historical location.
