For Minotti, the year 2019 brings a new stylistic language, a new decorative code.
This new vision of interior design mixes different styles, by working with designers from different cultural backgrounds, who harmoniously become part of the “Minotti project”, all coordinated by Roberto Dordoni with Minotti Studio.
As expression of the brand’s ongoing evolution looking to the future, strong in its ability to renew itself constantly, this new approach is revealed in the architecture of the exhibition project for the Salone, and shows a powerful synergy with the products on display.
Visitors were welcomed by a large circular reception area covered entirely in mirror-effect steel, and then attracted by unusual features, starting with the large circular embrasure opening in the ceiling, designed as an oculus, which comes into view as people enter the mezzanine level near the entrance, where visitor flow is at its peak
The central aisle divides the exhibition space into two distinct areas.
An imposing floor-to-ceiling window marks off the largest area, with a portion of the ceiling at double height; access to this area is through a corridor featuring a light box in the ceiling and a long wall in grooved plaster.
On the internal side, the wall features a striking graphic pattern created by Minotti Studio, with a geometric interplay of curves, which is also reproduced in the large rugs with tufting of different heights.
Two large spiral staircases provided a striking architectural element for the project, located at either end of the space, and leading to the upper level with its dramatic mirror ceiling, making the environment appear larger, with a large circular oculus in the centre overlooking the aisle that runs along the ground floor.
The mezzanine, which winds along a sinuous route with curved walls, is designed like the lounge of a hotel with a succession of conversation areas, and features a double-sided fireplace and a section dedicated to the operations area.
A spectacular curved maxi screen – 6×2 m – invites visitors to watch the video dedicated to the 2019 Hospitality project and other videos produced by the company.
This new vision was strongly reflected in an amazing architectural design created especially for Salone del Mobile
This striking new style created a dynamic, engaging exhibition space spanning 2.000 square metres, over two levels.
This was achieved by using organic, fluid forms and curved lines to create beautifully shaped sculptural surfaces, producing a three-dimensional effect.
In the centre of the living area is a large fireplace, an element that is a constant symbolic presence in the Minotti environments; here it is a free standing version with an organic, dynamic shape, featuring an abstract pattern in bas-relief that enlivens the surfaces, suggesting dynamism and originality.
” In the past, we have worked with square geometrical forms,” he said. “The space that we’re presenting this year is more curved, more round. It’s a new form.” ……….. Rodolfo Dordoni
In response to the idea of a large living area, the exhibit space is organized into relaxation, dining, conversation and outdoor zones, highlighting all the elements of the 2019 Collection, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, Christophe Delcourt, Nendo, Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 and GamFratesi.
The layout and compositions were designed to give the idea of a large open living plan where to relax, chat, or dine, as well as some beautiful outdoor spaces, all created in the Minotti lifestyle, to suggest the idea of a home that hosts nature within it.
The elegant colour palette, using the new fabrics and leathers created for the 2019 Collection completed the picture.
The stand design reflects Minotti’s changing brand identity, combining styles from different design cultures allows brands to gain an advantage in a competitive market, and to attract the attention of consumers with high expectations.
The settings express a particularly radiant mood, where the spectrum of colours, created exclusively for the fabrics and leathers, emphasizes the plasticity of the shapes and the choice of materials, and highlights the textures of the surfaces, suggesting the idea of a home with a domestic landscape that accommodates nature within it.
This exhibition project is an expression of Minotti’s new vision of interior design, that characterizes the images in the 2019 catalogues and the press campaign, that soon will compete to create the customer experience at Minotti flagship stores around the world.
” Working with different people, different cultures, different sensibilities, I think gives the market what it’s looking for.
Minotti approached designers from around the world in order to incorporate points of view from different cultures. How to make different cultures work together in developing products for the same company was the question we asked ourselves.
What we found was that all of them understood the company, and now we have products that are absolutely Minotti, but also different.” ……………. Rodolfo Dordoni
These were the new seating systems which were the main focus pieces for Minotti’s 2019 Collection.
by Christophe Delcourt
Daniels, by Christophe Delcourt, is comparable to a landscape design project where carefully plotted combinations of elements create a new domestic scenery, redesigning the living areas in which regular curves and ellipses interrupt the linearity of the layouts.
Innovative and truly original, it is at its most striking when paired with the Amber low units.

West, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, is characterized by a faceting effect that livens up and interrupts the cubism that sets the configuration of the seating system.
Elements with ergonomic backrests in saddle hide and creative modules such as the chaise-longue, available in pentagonal or hexagonal forms, break up the compositional layout, creating a stylistic point of interest.

New collaboration of 2019, the GamFratesi studio has worked on single seats characterized by the use of saddle hide: considering the Angie armchair, a saddle hide element designs a wing that embraces the armchair, sustaining the frame like a sculptural bustier, characterised inside by the inviting softness of the seat and backrest.
The family of products includes an armchair and a dining chair.

The Lawson seating system, by Rodolfo Dordoni, explores different types of seats with the fluid line of its shapes and the equilibrium of its soft volumes.
The design features a look based on the juxtaposition of materials: on one side there is leather, which follows the curve of the enveloping backrest, becoming then an armrest and, on the other side, there is the fabric of the cushions, with its haute couture feel.
Lawson is ideal for residential interiors, but also reveals a strong vocation for the Hospitality sector, thanks to its versatile modularity.
Shelley armchair, designed by GamFratesi, stands out for its elegant formal cubist shape.
Its linear geometry, enhanced by the presence of saddle hide and its accurate processing technique, plays on the harmonious contrasts between a structured external shell and a soft, inviting interior, also in the lounge armchair version.
Wedge is the family of dining and low tables designed by Nendo, characterized by a strong graphic style.
The bulky look, created by the solid sculptural masses of the semi-circular legs, contrasts with the lightweight feet, which culminate in an oblique chisel tip shape.

For the Outdoor Collection, Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 extends the Quadrado project, presented in 2018, with three new elements – the armchair, the double daybed and the dining table – creating an evocative dialogue with the surrounding nature.
Designed with the same rationalistic approach that pervades the architectures of the Brazilian designer, the Quadrado new pieces sport minimal square shapes, recalling the classic teak duck board element.
A central oval island with greeneries, housed some pieces of outdoor furniture designed by Nendo.
With its compact forms, Tape Cord Outdoor, the outdoor version of the Tape family presented in 2018, offers a variety of stylish yet discreet seats and small tables for creating original solutions, also for small outdoor urban spaces.
The backrests of the seating elements feature a finish created with wicker-effect cords.
On the upper floor, with access through two important helicoidal staircases, a selection of new products has given shape to Minotti’s Hospitality vision, in a succession of conversation and relaxation areas with an intimate and elegant atmosphere.
Minotti is an Italian company with a solid reputation at an international level as an excellent expression of “Made in Italy” in the field of contemporary furniture design and ambassador of a classic-modern lifestyle in the residential and hospitality segments.
The company was established in 1948 and born out of the intuition of Alberto Minotti.
The small scale artisan workshop grew quickly and, starting from the Sixties, became more industrialized in character and size.
The next step was taken by Renato and Roberto Minotti, who, after the premature death of their father in 1991, took over the reins of the company and began a process of growth and expansion into the international markets
Responsible for the corporate strategy, since 1998 they have shared their creative vision and aesthetic key-principles with the architect Rodolfo Dordoni, who has been assigned the strategic role of coordinator of all the company collections.
A story of Italian excellence also been shared by the third generation: in the forefront, Alessio, Alessandro and Susanna who are facing the challenges of the third millennium, of the digital and multicultural world.
Central to the Minotti identity is the full expression of the “Made in Italy” concept, which today permanently melds tradition and innovation: the skills of talented artisan are employed to finish a product created by modern technologies, while the intelligence of the hands balances industrial precision with sensitivity and emotion.
This high degree of know-how is constantly improved by the intensive research on materials and technological solutions thus enhancing the value of impeccable details. The commitment to excellence involves all the company.
Over the years the company has conceived a specific “Minotti code”, that has become a constant feature of every collection, always following the key principle of “innovation in the spirit of continuity”.
Deeply rooted in the company’s DNA, it is linked to the principles of aesthetic understatement, timeless elegance, continuity in the sign of tradition, artisan savoir-faire with great attention to sartorial details.
A key role in this process is played by Minotti Studio, heart and mind of the company, that encapsulates all the skills of the creative supply chain, from architecture to interior design, from prototyping to engineering, from graphics to visual, from marketing to communication.
Minotti Studio gives shape to designers’ ideas and projects, channeling their creative energies based on different cultural roots, in the development of indoor and outdoor collections for the residential and hospitality segments. These collections reflect the Minotti identity as well as the evolution of living habits.
2018 marked a breakthrough in the company’s design management. In consideration of the ongoing company growth in the sign of continuity and rigour as inspired by Rodolfo Dordoni, Minotti has embraced an exciting creative multicultural exchange, thanks to surprising new interpretations by distinguished design and architecture professionals, like Nendo, Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 and Christophe Delcourt, coordinated by the Milanese designer.
2019 marked the début of the GamFratesi studio.
Minotti’s international vision has resulted in a widespread presence in 63 countries, through a network of 36 flagship stores and over 400 qualified dealers around the world, where people can fully experience the international refined lifestyle of the company.
