Salone Milan 2010 – Tom Dixon’s Industry review

Tom Dixon presented a resolved and varied collection of lighting and furniture where the manufacturing processes are laid bare and the visitor can engage in the making of their own products. Inspired by the many and varied forms of industry, from mass production to cottage industry.

Launch of 4 new products that are ready for ordering now :

1) Void. The mysterious lighting object in solid metal with a double wall spun construction.

2) Peg.The minimalist stacking caféchair in solid birch.

3) Jack. The ‘sitting, stacking, lighting thing’made from polyethylene, launched in new black and fluorosignature shades.

4) OffcutBench.The flat packed bench, assembled without screws or glues, and made from the most neglected part of the tree.

5 x new prototypes shown including Step lighting and vessels, Knobs (glass and marble)  and the Slab Colour Grid. Ready for ordering in 2-3 months
