Metropol, Milan – Dolce & Gabbana

Metropol, Milan – Dolce & Gabbana

Once again, Dolce & Gabbana are the enthusiastic creators of a magnificent new project, for a commitment at the service of the city as well as culture. The Metropol, the historical Milanese cinema built in the late Forties, has completely been renovated in all its splendour, fully respecting the original structure.

The Metropol – the historic site where Maria Callas recorded Bellini’s Norma in 1954, accompanied by the La Scala Orchestra – has now become a multipurpose space. Located in the very heart of Milan, in addition to hosting the events of the fashion house, it will also be open to the city’s cultural and social events.

Naturally, this project is distinguished by the sophisticated architectural fusion that is the hallmark of all Dolce & Gabbana projects: sleek lines and volumes, “Mediterranean” materials like basaltina stone and black opaline glass, exquisite finishes and detailing, and refined interiors.

The focal point of the space is an enormous room with approximately 1000 square metres of floor space and dramatic 15-metre-high arches, with a surprising new balcony made of black glass. Reception areas fan out from the room to offer the public maximum comfort and leisure.

On the basement level are the support and service areas, equipped to ensure the building’s smooth operation.
