This year at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Panasonic Corporation presented an exceptional installation “ Electronics meet Crafts” which showcased state-of-the-art Japanese craftsmanship and aesthetic awareness that highlighted the project’s theme perfectly
Panasonic’s multi-sensory space brought the “Future Craft” philosophy to life through an array of audio, imaging and lighting technology.
Fused with traditional Japanese craftsmanship, the installation showcased Panasonic’s detailed and refined visionary concepts designed to provide a better future for the next century.
Go On Project
In an underground corridor filled with history, Panasonic is exhibiting various prototype products in the theme of this year’s exhibition, “Electronics Meets Crafts.”
These products were created from Panasonic’s partnership with GO ON, a joint collaboration of Kyoto craftspeople who apply time-honored techniques of Japanese crafts to create inspiring, new designs with international and contemporary appeal.

Panasonic’s imaging and audio technologies, featuring projectors, speakers, and lighting, create not only an inspiring space for visitors but also stimulate their five senses through touch and sensation.
Combining the serenity of nature and the grace of technology, the installation brings to light a sharpened aesthetic awareness and allure of space.
Panasonic considers the exhibition of “Future Craft” prototypes at this year’s Milano Salone as another step forward and will continue to contemplate the fusion of home electronics and traditional crafts in its future designs and products.
In addition, students of the Academy created their own installations to be shown during Milano Salone, using Panasonic’s Space Player projectors based on their inspiration.
Mr. Franco Marrocco, Director of the Accademia di Brera commented “we look upon this particular collaboration as a source of great energy and a source of novelties. I really think it’s going to be our bread and butter for the future.”
Through this installation, Panasonic promotes the “Future Craft” philosophy. With dedication and thoughtful consideration for people and the environment, Panasonic strives to provide a better future for the next century through visionary designs.
“Electronics Meets Crafts” underlines the detail and refined craftsmanship inherent in all Panasonic products, which is the company’s basic philosophy toward design.
Milano Design Award 2017
On April 6, 2017, Panasonic was honored with the Milano Design Award 2017 for Best Storytelling in the competition that selects the best exhibitions of Milano Design Week.
This is the second year in a row for Panasonic to receive an award for its exhibition at Milano Salone, winning the People’s Choice Award in 2016 for “KUKAN.”
The Milano Design Award contains six award categories in addition to its main award each year, and recipients are chosen by an international jury judging the concept and technology of each exhibition.
The Award for Best Storytelling honors the exhibition which has best expressed a clear message through its story and other communication.
Considering Panasonic’s “Electronics Meets Crafts:,” Milano Design Award stated: “It has a flowing story, and contains state-of-the-art technology complete with magnificent traditional crafts.
Beginning with its Design Philosophy, the story behind the specifics of its “Future Craft” prototypes is excellent, and this continued with the exceptional connections made between the dynamic and moody installation of the first area and the still, unchanging emotion of the products in the second.”
