dedece’s exclusive video interview with Davide Groppi @ Salone Milan 2015
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2015, Davide Groppi presented ten new lamps between art and technology, starting from the most basic form, the fire, the more sophisticated and rarefied forms of light.
Davide Groppi designs lights not only to illuminate, but also to tell stories, give meaning, draw metaphors and build the theatre of our lives.
They investigate the many dimensions of light playing between magic and impossibility, lightness and invention.

We have created with passion, courage and without compromise. We have been imagining forever a lamp made only of light.
It’s such an intense project. It allows you to enter another dimension in space. It’s so simple that it evokes surprise and wonder. ” ………………. Davide Groppi
Davide Groppi has chosen Milan Design Week 2016 to present “ WIRELESS IS MORE ” – the result of an ongoing search to express poetry and meaning through creative lighting.
The choice to apply wireless technology has allowed the development of creations that are closer to people and their specific needs, going beyond the limits imposed by electric wires.

Design Academy Eindhoven presented “Eat Shit” at the Salone del Mobile – the first exhibition of the new department Food Non Food, directed by Marije Vogelzang
‘Eat Shit’ is a definition of the human condition. You eat, you shit, you eat, you shit, and then you die.
Food is life. Input leads to output. So it makes sense to also examine one of foods stinkiest consequences – shit and waste.
Shit is your print-out, the great revealer of a person’s health and culture.
