Weekdays at 2pm and 11pm – Monday 31 May to Friday 11 June

Lou Reed and Hall Willner have a long history for collaboration. In 2008 they took to the airwaves with a weekly radio program, New York Shuffle, and now in Sydney for Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House* Reed and Willner will spin the disks and talk music for Sydney Shuffle.

Featuring music from jazz to vintage rock – and plenty of conversation – Reed and Willner will be broadcasting from the Western Foyer of the Sydney Opera House throughout Vivid LIVE. The program will then go to air twice each weekday on ABC Radio National – and streamed online** – at 2pm, with a new episode at 11pm.

Vivid Sydney is the annual festival of light, music and ideas and Vivid LIVE, at Sydney Opera House (May 28 to June 11), will see the next generation of musicians mingle with the masters. Curated by New York’s powerhouse art-rock couple Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed, Vivid LIVE will feature large-scale solo concerts, small intimate evenings, a talks program, free events, and the lighting of the Opera House sails.

Lou Reed’s career as musician, songwriter and photographer spans several decades and many genres. Following his involvement with the Velvet Underground as lead guitarist, principal songwriter and vocalist Reed pursued a solo career, securing his status as one of contemporary music’s most influential artists.

Music producer Hal Willner works in recording, film, television and live events. He has worked with some of contemporary music’s best known artists and is renowned for the tribute and spoken-word albums he has produced.
