Dedece Skyscraper Project
Since 1938, Knoll has been recognized internationally for creating workplace and residential furnishings that inspire, evolve and endure.
To mark this 75th anniversary achievement, Dedece asked George Freedman ( renowned Sydney interior designer) to curate a new showroom presentation, featuring Knoll’s iconic and new residential and workplace designs, reflecting its rich design heritage of furniture, textiles and accessories whilst being grounded in clarity of form and honesty in materials.
Tom Dixon‘s 2014 accessories collection is inspired by the industrial qualities of engineering, with a beautiful play on industrial machine parts, utilising semi-precious materials like brass, copper and glass.
Famed for his previous collection of furniture, lighting and accessories, Tom Dixon’s accessories collection shows his continued talent to produce innovative and interesting design that deals with every day objects and the pursuit to reinvent them in a beautifully resolved design.
The exhibition curated by Francesca Molten has been specially devised for the Salone, providing an exclusive glimpse into “rooms” designed by eight of the world’s most respected architects
Photographs will be shown alongside videos, sounds and comments, creating an interactive space that unveils the architects’ visions of living.
Roberto Giacomucci, curator of the project, coordinated a workshop of twenty-four well-known Italian and foreign designers, invited to meet one challenge: to design a birdhouse.
They were free to express and experiment their own vision through functions, forms, colors, and finishes
