The futuristic project by Karim Rashid is made from Dupont Corian and includes other bio-sourced sustainable components and recycled materials. It is proposed as an example of possible options that can be used in the future to meet the emerging technical and environmental challenges faced by interior design, architecture and building.
Smart-ologic Corian® living is the name of the interior design project that DuPont™ Corian® and canadian designer karim rashid will present in Milan. The sustainable housing concept designed by rashid, takes advantage of the versatility and sensory quality of the DuPont ™ Corian® material.
The organically shaped home with gently undulating walls, includes a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and will be filled with home design solutions where DuPont™ Corian® will be a key player.
‘smart-ologic Corian® living’ will also feature ‘futuristic types’ of DuPont™ Corian® which have been made with environmentally sustainable bio-sourced components and recycled materials, displaying the company’s efforts to decrease its environmental footprint.
This project will also be the first presentation of a futuristic type of DuPont™ Zodiaq® quartz surfaces, which rashid has used in designing some of the furniture. selected colors from the current range along with colors from the 2010 series of DuPont ™ Corian® will set the aesthetic base of the space.
Smart-ologic Corian® living will also integrate DuPont™ Energain® panels for energy consumption reduction along with DuPont™ building integrated photovoltaic modules and Tyvek® woven membranes.
