For the last decade, Wallpaper* Handmade – the annual exhibition of captivating collaborations produced by renowned design magazine Wallpaper*– has been populated by innovative brands, designers and manufacturers from around the globe.
This year, they curated a whole host of friends to enrich the love-themed Handmade experience.
The presence of Juventus at the Milan Design Week is part of a wide array of initiatives, projects, and radically innovative brand experiences, of which football will always be the origin, but never the limit.
These new expressions and experiences support Juventus’ transformation from a sports brand to an identity brand that engages with completely new markets and audiences, including the global design community.

Wallpaper* wanted to develop a ritual celebration of the divine inspiration, the high craftiness and crafts from which divine works arise.
Housed in the deconsecrated former medieval Church of Santa Teresa in via Moscova, the designated design temple, “pilgrimage” came to great designers and architects with their works realized in collaboration with craftsmen or brands of unique, miraculous materials.

For the Salone 2017, Toiletpaper created a PopUp bar at the Mediateca Santa Teresa ( within the Wallpaper* Holy Handmade exhibition space ), in the heart of the Brera Design District.
The Toiletpaper Bar ! installation used imagery created by artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari, in collaboration with Guffram, Seletti, La Buttiga
Wallpaper* invited the American Hardwood Export Council, architects Kolman Boye and furniture-makers Benchmark to create a towering structure of food plates as part of the Wallpaper* Handmade 2015 exhibition.
The brief was to design a candy-store concept for handing out free savoury biscuits from local bistro T’a Milano.
It’s huge at over 3.7m in diameter and the same in height, more a structure, than a piece of furniture. As architect Victor Boye Julebäk said “Something really strong was needed for the huge venue… but maybe we went a little over the top!”
Wallpaper* Handmade was a “freshly minted celebration of craft, creativity and collaboration” which saw Wallpaper* Magazine once again pairing designers with manufacturers, and commissioning them to create one-off pieces for Milan Design Week.
This year Wallpaper* Handmade again returned to the Leclettico Gallery for its 5th year, and worked closely with the gallery’s founder Claudio Loria to curate the exhibition.
Acting as patron, client and creative director, Wallpaper* commissioned their favourite designers, artists, craftsmen, makers and manufacturers to create unique furniture, fittings, food stuffs, fashions and more.
