The Spectre of Milan, created by Disegno shared oral histories about Milan’s place in design lore by leading designers who have worked in Milan for many years,

The designers share their memories of Milan’s past, as well as their reflections on a city that continues to fascinate the creative industries.

The large format Spectre of Milan newspaper was available to pick up free of charge, from various distribution points across Milan during the Salone.

A diverse array of installations, micro-exhibitions and events organised by some of Europe’s most renowned designers and institutions animated Palazzo Clerici each day for the duration of the Salone.

Caesarstone Islands @ Salone Milan 2014

Caesarstone presented Islands, with an interactive installation focusing on food and dining within the domestic environment at the 18th century Palazzo Clerici, in Milan’s Brera District.

They teamed up with London-based design studio Raw Edges Design Studio, UK, – to create a collection of seven living islands that offer both a new take on the materials and an innovative interpretation of the domestic space.

De Natura Fossilium @ Salone Milan 2014

Studio Formafantasma, from Holland, created one of the most fascinating shows at the Salone 2014, titled “De Natura Fossilium”.

The designers scoured the volcanic landscape over a period of a few months, filled their sacks with various rocks, and hauled the material back to their studio in the Netherlands, before melting the rock in a local metal workshop
