Design and craftsmanship continue to be at the heart of Mindcraft that, in its tenth edition, presents a project curated by Ditte Hammerstrøm.

In this year’s exhibition, the objects on display take centre stage, with an emphasis on the hands-on engagement with the material and the visual, aesthetic and sensuous qualities of the objects.

Nendo – 50 Manga Chairs @ Milan Design Week 2016

Japanese designer Nendo, has set up his show at one of Brera’s most magical spaces, the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, staging a comic story starring chairs.

With this exhibition, Nendo abstracts archetypes of manga comics. the chairs are happy, distressed, embarrassed, surprised; they leap and bound, zoom past, or slowly slink away. each chair has its own personality, allowing it to stand on its own or, when placed next to the others, to become part of a collective narrative.

Mindcraft 2015, winner of the Milano Design Award at the Chiostro Minore di San Simpliciano was curated by GamFratesi – using “reflection” as their theme

Reflection because the Court of the Faculty of theology was used by monks to reflect, but mainly because it is the representation of our intervention in this beautiful space, completely covered with mirrors.
