Nendo – Light & Shadow @ Salone Milan 2016

Nendo noticed that Marsotto, ( which specializes in marble furniture ) , make a lot their products a single material in either “black” or “white”, without combining any other materials.

So in order to utilize the rather unsightly regularly spaced pillars and the spatial feature of the entrance being in the middle of the Spazio Bigli venue space, it was decided that the exhibition space would be divided right and left using “black” and “white”.

Nendo – 50 Manga Chairs @ Milan Design Week 2016

Japanese designer Nendo, has set up his show at one of Brera’s most magical spaces, the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, staging a comic story starring chairs.

With this exhibition, Nendo abstracts archetypes of manga comics. the chairs are happy, distressed, embarrassed, surprised; they leap and bound, zoom past, or slowly slink away. each chair has its own personality, allowing it to stand on its own or, when placed next to the others, to become part of a collective narrative.

With its monumental ceilings and entertainment history, it becomes the perfect setting to show, animate and sell the new Tom Dixon collections.
