Neo Preistoria 100 Verbs @ Salone Milan 2016

From a stone to a simulated human heart, the Italian designer Andrea Branzi and Japanese designer Kenya Hara, trace the design history of tools from the stone age to today, in the Neo Pre History – 100 Verbs exhibition at the Triennale di Milano.

A journey inspired by the power of “100 verbs” and “100 instruments” which, like streams of mysterious, life-giving energy, guide the viewer through the dark clouds of history and of infinite space.

Architect Diébédo Francis Kéré, originally from Burkina Faso, was invited to transform Palazzo Litta’s inner courtyard into a neo-African village.

Inside the Palazzo, DAMN Magazine assembled a selection of architects, designers, and corporate partners, to express themselves under the theme : A Matter of Perception: Tradition and Technology – which is all about the origin of concepts; how materials affect and define an object or an idea, with the purpose of looking at things in everyday life in a different way.

Aesthetics of Misery @ Salone Milan 2015

At the baroque Lombard 18th century Palazzo Litta, project curators Andrea Branzi and Michele De Lucchi presented 16 projects of “social environment”, based on the concept of misery, a subject always expressed in arts, cinema and literature but basically alien to the Salone design culture.

“Aesthetics of Misery” was born as a result of a postgraduate experimental workshop at the Politecnico di Milano, overseen by Francesca Balena Arista and Marco De Santi, during which students were asked to take on the theme of misery, almost always excluded from aesthetics design.
