This year “Belgium is Design” played an important role yet again during the Milan Design Week, in the prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera Art school.

The Belgium Designer of the Year Award celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and brought together the 10 designers whom previously won the Belgium Designer of the Year Award since its creation in 2006

The perfect occasion to team up with Belgium is Design and to organise ‘Confronting the Masters’.

Copper, interpreted in all its multiple forms and applications, is the main theme of Copper Crossings – Copper Shapes in Contemporary Art, Design, Technology and Architecture presented at Triennale di Milano and later at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci.

Copper Crossings is a journey through works of art, design and architecture, applications in science and technology together with photos and videos where copper is the leit motiv.

From 15 April to July 19, 2015, Palazzo Reale, Milan is presenting the largest exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci ever held in Italy,

Entitled “Leonardo 1452-1519”, the exhibition, explores the central themes of the multi-faceted work of Leonardo: the drawings; the reflection on the arts and on the antiquity; the great innovation of the “motions of the mind”; the focus on utopian projects and the mechanical automation.

It includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and manuscripts, brought together from the finest museums in the world, amongst which the British Museum in London, the Uffizi in Florence, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

“Favilla – To Every Light a Voice” @ Salone Milan 2015

“FAVILLA – To Every Light a Voice” examines the science of light through an immersive experience that highlights the way light moves, how it is seen by the eye, and how it allows people to discover new shapes.

Through skilful manipulation these light shapes gradually become more recognisable until the display achieves a cohesive form and takes shape as the sculptural Ford GT super car.

Energy for Creativity by Interni @ FuoriSalone 2015

The 18th Edition of the Exhibition-Event organised by Interni for the FuoriSalone 2015 was named “Energy For Creativity” takes place in the Courtyards of the University of Milan, from 13 April until 24 May.

The Exhibition-Event offers a space of experimentation with large scale installations, capable of activating disciplinary synergies; alongside the display of models and prototypes, micro-architectures, indoor and outdoor pavilions, luminous installations, video projections, there are also theme exhibitions, performances, conferences and encounters.

Mindcraft 2015, winner of the Milano Design Award at the Chiostro Minore di San Simpliciano was curated by GamFratesi – using “reflection” as their theme

Reflection because the Court of the Faculty of theology was used by monks to reflect, but mainly because it is the representation of our intervention in this beautiful space, completely covered with mirrors.
