Paola Lenti’s creations reveal careful study of materials and their composition, together with the continuous dialogue with natural materials needed to host a welcoming space for Salone visitors.

It is a chance to relax and unwind after a tiring day getting around the Salone

Paola Lenti invited LAN ( Laboratorio Architecture Naturali ) to construct a natural setting using just bamboo and synthetic rope – to creatively display Paola Lenti’s beautiful Taiki outdoor lamps

LAN removes itself from the captivity of the boundary, the compulsion to repeat, gaining continuous filament from interweaving his life force, the exchange of energy between man and nature that provides a dreamed lightness.

LAN is the brainchild and research of architect Francesco Poli for the use of natural materials, recycling plants and applied to architecture, design and art.

Change can be defined as making difference or becoming different. It is evolution, it is progress. It is a temporal experience from which you will leave with a different perception of the self.

The volumes and forms are transformed through learning, they react to the living space, to the surrounding environment.

The object becomes receptive in the path of transformation, it is divided viscerally, it branches out and envelops upon itself.

The path becomes the object of change, of growth, maintaining the memory of this mutation through uterine strands of constant nourishment of the past.

Paola Lenti’s  ” Taiki ”  lamps are a series of suspension lamps.

The external covering is made by sewing a one or two colours of Paola Lenti’s Rope cord in a spiral-like pattern.

An additional internal shade, made of a semi-transparent polyester cord, enhances the lamp brightness.

Taiki lamps can be used both in interior and in exterior environments.

Real architecture, yes SIRS, is poetry…………….An organic building is the maximum of the poems, and the fact that it must respond to real needs, be reality, stimulating daily life by making something more worthy of being lived, this does not make it less poetic ” …………. Frank llyod Wright.

About Bamboo

Bamboo is a gramineous grass like wheat and rice.

The culms, cables inside, appear as wooden tubes flexible long and harsh, with such a structural strength to seem a miracle of natural engineering: is still essential in the construction of scaffolding and scaffolding that Asian cities rise dramatically to build futuristic skyscrapers.

This explains the increasing use of bamboo in green building and the great interest aroused by this plant.

Its’ versatility would seem endless: with wood are durable and elegant parquet floors; the fibers are made into fabrics for clothing; the extracts, which contain beneficial substances, contribute to the creation of drugs and become valuable additives for foodstuffs and beauty.

In carrying out its vital tasks the ordinary bamboo plant could make an invaluable contribution to the resolution of the growing environmental degradation.

bamboo projects

Here are three considerations revealing its potential:

– bamboo is the plant with the fastest growth in the world: its biomass may reach an annual increase up to 30%, while that of the trees generally fluctuates between 2 and 5%;

– bamboo is a pioneer plant that is able to colonize any type of terrain and to cover large areas quickly. Contemporary development of its dense network of rhizomes also exerts a strong stabilization capacity on the ground which hosts them;

– bamboo issues, equal environmental conditions, the 35% more oxygen than arboreal plants, and is able to absorb carbon dioxide in measure four times higher.

About Laboratorio Natural Architecture

Laboratorio Architecture Naturali group was born from the experience in Portugal and in Italy of the Arch. Francesco Poli from experimentation and research on natural plant materials recycling and applied to architecture, design and art through the creation of artworks, artefacts and architectural design.

Fundamental is the relationship of this architecture or “land art” with man and nature.

Organic architecture is an architecture that is designed as additional body of man which rises to meet explicit requirements and interpret his deeper needs and who manages to create, through its expressive force and her being in the process of becoming a strong synergy between the built environment and the natural one.

Laboratorio Architecture Naturali also promotes the DIY and self-recovery, the rediscovery of ancient craft techniques and construction through a reverse path that aims to stimulate the interest in the past through the use of technical solutions and innovative technology.

LAN is committed to promoting the culture of sustainability, eco-conscious and consumption of social ethics, involving actively, in all his work, the local population and, through processes of cooperation and participation; creating a framework for the mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise.

A different approach to architecture, art materials, which passes by a strong awareness of environmental and urban context, the places of the city and its attractions, nature not as pin and a source of growth and inspiration, a new concept of artist or architect meets with the execution of his works
