	Salone Milan 2012/ Link . In the world of design the “Salone del Mobile“, (a.k.a Milan Design Week) remains strongly considered as the absolute reference for everything design-related.


Global Brands Muscling into Furniture / Link . Milan is a city of contradictions - grey, conservative, and traditional, yet it embraces new and challenging ideas in fashion and furnishings. The fusion between fashion and design has never been as strong as it is today.	Premsela Talks and Exhibitions / Link . Premsela again brought a full program of events to Milan’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012 by staging Spring, their inaugural exhibition in Milan.


Salone Satellite / Link . This years Salone Satellite 2012 theme - "Design Technology - a special tribute to Steve Jobs" was a fascinating gallery of projects, conceived by 750 young designers and included 17 international Schools of Design.	Dror for Tumi / Link . To celebrate the launch of the Dror for Tumi collection, a special installation was created by Jules Wright entitled "Passaggio", a short film following a mysterious character on her even more mysterious travels.


Minotti 2012 Collection / Link . A Storybook catalogue portrays the distinctive traits of an entity that is constantly changing, one that takes its cue from the previous collection and turns that achievement into the point of departure for a new beginning.	San Patrignano Barrique / Link . San Patrignano, is the largest residential treatment center in Europe, and it is home to over 1,300 young men and women who are recovering from drug addiction and social exclusion through projects including high level professional vocation training.


Be open to the future / Link . BE OPEN: a global scheme to foster creativity and innovation, to imagine and build solutions for the future.	Librocielo (Skybook)- Milan's Roman Heart / Link . The Biblioteca Ambrosiana ( Library) in Milan, housed along with the Pinoteca Ambroisiana (Art Gallery) is one of the great repositories of European culture.


Instant Stories / Link . Celebrating it's fifth year in Milan, DMY Berlin presented Instant Stories, showing the work of eleven designers and creative studios from Berlin.	Digital Forming at MOST / Link . It has been more common to associate the words revolutionary and platform with communications technologies than with design, as social media went from obscurity to ubiquity in about five years.


Knoll International / Link . Knoll, one of the worlds' "leading furniture and textile manufacturers" recognized.	Ron Gilad at Dilmos / Link . The Israeli-born new york-based designer Ron Gilad, presented a solo exhibition at Dilmos Gallery entitled "The line, the arch, the circle & the square"


MOST a.k.a Tom Dixon's District / Link . Tom Dixon, kicked off Milan Design Week 2012 with a huge bang when he transformed the "Leonardo da Vinci" Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia, in the center of Milan, into a new "Epi-Centre" of the Salone.	Columbian Ex-Prisoner Chairs for Marni / Link . The Italian high street fashion house Marni, premiered chair's which were woven from PVC threads and produced by Columbian former ex-prisoners as part of a rehabilitation programme.


Wrap Spaces in Zona Tortona / Link . To get to Wrap Spaces small Via Tortona exhibition space - you just had to follow the neon orange arrows.	Dezeen Sreens at MOST / Link . Marcus Fairs and his team relocated to Milan during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile to set up Dezeen Studio at MOST.


Vittorio Bonacina - Design Icons / Link . Certain names and dates distinguish the life of a company just as they distinguish the life of each one of us.	Grafica Italiana / Link . The Triennale Design Museum's 5th Major Exhibition titled "TDM5: Grafica Italiana", continues its engagement with the promotion and enhancement of Italian creativity.


Vico Magistretti: Thinking With Hands / Link . For the Milanese foundations and small museums dealing with design, the Salone del Mobile is always a good opportunity to show the status of their archives and research activity.	The Heineken Club / Link . Milan's Design Week hosted the unveiling of a collaborative "Crowd Sourced" - "Pop-Up" nightclub concept from Heineken which once again showed that creativity is also synonymous with success


Kreon - Light & Build 2012 / Link . Transparent and open, welcoming and communicative, and with a confidence characterised by concise forms and a dominant bulkhead that edges the stand, wass how Kreon presented itself at Light+Building 2012.	Paola Lenti Novelties / Link . Paola Lenti presented several proposals and materials to better explore the world of colours and the sensory dimensions of their new products.


Hot Tools by Ecal / Link . "Hot Tools" was one of three exhibitions presented by ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne) for the Salone 2012.	Melvin the Mini Machine / Link . So HEYHEYHEY specifically created "Melvin the Mini Machine" to be able travel the world - and it duly arrived in Ventura Lambrate, Milan for its launch at the Salone 2012.


Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 / Link . Kvadrat was established in Denmark in 1968 and has deep roots in Scandinavia's world famous design tradition.	The Electrolux Cube / Link . The Electrolux CUBE was designed to be placed in unexpected and dramatic European locations.


Nendo covers Milan / Link . Nendo's Trial and Error exhibition brought together pieces from the new collection of 1% Products and five collections of furniture designs developed over a series of solo exhibitions.	Auto-Mobile Exhibition / Link . The exhibition "AUTO-MOBILE" traces 50 years of Citroen cars that have made history, and the furniture seen during the past 50 editions of the Salone del Mobile.


Milan Design Run / Link . Interni and Nike have organized, in April 2012, the 2nd edition of the Milano Design Run, a non-competitive running event for Sports and Design, during Design Week in Milan.	Interni Legacy / Link . The reflection proposed this year by Interni during the Fuorisalone focuses on this theme: Legacy, or heritage.


TAR Conversations at MOST / Link . The first edition of "TAR Conversations" was held in the auditorium inside the bigger project MOST.	PhotoSynthesis - Elita Award Winner / Link . Photosynthesis by Akihisa Hirata conceived for Panasonic is the official 2012 Elita Installation Design winner (field of approx 500 exhibitions).


Minotti exposition Space / Link . This year Minotti once again designed an exposition space that does not deserve to be merely called a "stand".	Dirk Van der Kooij / Link . Dirk van der Kooij exhibited this year as part of the Domus & Audi project - "The Future in the Making"


Hydro-Fold by Christophe Guberan / Link . Hydro-Fold is a project that aims to explore the properties of paper and how a liquid may bend its structure.	Balanced by Mischer's Traxler / Link . In recent years designers have not just been presenting their work, but using the Salone exhibitions to showcase their process alongside their finished products.


Colour one for Mini / Link . MINI presented a probing, thought-provoking and inspiring concept created by the Dutch design duo Scholten & Baijings who explored the design of a MINI	Alto a Bar Basso / Link . DesignMarketo brought the “Bar Alto collection” to Milan for the Salone – where it took up residence at the Salone designers’ favourite hangout – Bar Basso, the venue it was inspired by.


Improvised Making by Dominic Wilcox / Link . Dominic Wilcox made an improvised project which grew, developed and changed over the course of six days	La Chance at MOST / Link . La Chance is a new furniture and lighting company which debuted at MOST, Tom Dixon's five-floor extravaganza in the National Museum of Science and Technology.


Design Dance / Link . The Saloni are carrying forward their cultural and didactic campaign with an event / show illustrating man's development through a unique focus on design.	Skitsch Looks Forward / Link . Skitsch is an Italian design innovative company working with established and emerging designers from around the globe.


Minotti - Innovation & Continuity / Link . Innovation and continuity, the distinctive traits of an ever-evolving identity. The end result of many years of working towards an objective.	Walpaper Handmade at Brioni / Link . Spread over three floors, the concept was called "Made by Hand" and was presented in a variety of ways.


KETTAL Cottage by Patricia Urquiola / Link . KETTAL - Cottage is a charming spot, a place in which to relax in comfort, meditate, rest or simply pass the time in the company of a good book, enjoying the air and the light, the definitive refuge in which to enjoy the outdoors	Felt Furniture by Analogia Project / Link . Analogia 003 is an experimental project, located in Ventura Lambrate for the Salone 2012. It is presented in a temporary, site-specific installation for the art gallery that hosts the exhibition.


Vittorio Bonacina / Link . Vittorio Bonacina's artisans exhibit true mastery when working rattan. Each piece is made by hand, and using the basic elements water and fire. They create both classic and fresh, new forms.	Rosanna Orlandi / Link . One destination that now is on top of every design-aficionado's agenda is Spazio Rossana Orlandi - a whismical garden, gallery, shop and restaurant.


Paola Lenti - the Key of Colour / Link . In the Key of Colour is an innovative Paola Lenti project in the international furnishings for exterior environments	The Secret Garden / Link . The Orto Botanico (Botanical Garden) in Brera is a pleasant spot, largely unknown, in the heart of Milan. A silent green area enclosed by patrician residences and, on one side, by the Brera Accademia Art Museum.


De Padova Designer's Interviews / Link . De Padova is more than just a family name: it’s the trademark of a firm that has contributed to the worldwide success of Italian design.	Mercedes Benz does Furniture / Link . Mercedes-Benz now bring their unmistakable styling and high standard of quality to the living room.


Spring table at MOST / Link . Spring Table is a pop-up restaurant (conceived by Tom Dixon ) from Dock Kitchens award-winning Stevie Parle, open for public lunches and dinners and is housed in the 14th century Leonardo Da Vinci Monastery inside the Milan Science Museum. Supercyclers S.O.S / Link . Supercyclers, from Australia, are presenting a collection of designers that have created work that up-cycles old, used or under appreciated materials.	Frame Moooi Award / Link . The Frame Moooi Award was launched in mid-2011 with the goal of finding the best custom-made lamp or furnishing designed for a specific interior.


Man vs Machine at la Rinescente / Link . The age of 3D Printing is here but there is a discussion around where it is heading and how useful it will be.	Gucci Fiat 500 by Gucci / Link . Fiat and Gucci presented a collection of 5 short films starring the recently released limited edition 500 by Gucci as seen through the eyes of some creatives.


Eclectic by Tom Dixon / Link . Tom Dixons first collection of accessories, gifts and objects of design comes after ten years devoted to the creation of furniture and lighting products.	Surface tension Lamp by Front Design / Link . Dutch design company Booo! Studio asked Swedish design group Front to create two pendant lamps.


Gaia & Gino Sparkling again / Link . Gaia & Gino based company renowned throughout the world of interiors for their creative inventiveness with Swarovski Elements to create Sparkling.	Luminosity by Tom Dixon / Link . British design company Tom Dixon launched ‘Luminosity’ a showcase of new lamps, lights and shades presented in a series of illuminated environments.


Minotti / Link . Minotti once again has delivered an abundant array of elegant / stylish / contemporary and desirable collections for the market to consider. The end result of many years of working towards an objective.	Knoll International / Link . Knoll showcased highly collectible Classic and Contemporary design at its permanent showroom in Piazza Bertarelli 2, Milan


Yves Behar's Soda Stream at MOST / Link . Driving home the projects focus on environmental responsibility and the need to reduce the number of cans and bottles that unneccessarily end up as landfill	Tom Dixon's Digital Industrial Revolution / Link . By collaborating with the German engineering giant TRUMPF, Tom arranged to bring to MOST for his Digital Industrial Revolution the actual industrial machines used in Stamping production.


Gelato Master Class at MOST / Link . Carpigiani Gelato University guided designers and visitors in the methods and concepts to of create cutting edge gelato ice creams as well helping them to also have a go at re-designing the gelato cone.	Key of colours by Paola Lenti / Link . Once again, one of the most captivating exhibitions at Milan Design Week was that of Paola Lenti's indoor and outdoor collections, her pieces delight in simplicity and comfort.


Viesques - Patricia Urquiola for Kettal / Link . The collection consists of chairs, tables and sofa pieces for the living and dining room. The aluminium metal framework and three dimensional fabric (nido d’ape ) are what characterize Vieques.	Giant Cubebot at MOST / Link . When David Weeks met Quinze & Milan at Salone Milan 2011, they both knew that they had to collaborate to create a marvelous piece that would not only be fun, but can also provide a comfortable and inviting space to relax.


Park life - by Jasper Morrison for Kettal / Link . Park Life is the first collection of outdoor furniture by British designer Jasper Morrison for Spanish brand Kettal. It comprises chairs, chaise lounge, table and small table, easy chair and sofa, pillows.	Lenny Kravitz at Kartell / Link . This year, Kartell presented a series of chairs re-designed by rock star Lenny Kravitz.


De Padova - Freshness of Change / Link . During Milan Design Week, the De Padova showroom ( on Corso Venezia ) is renowned for always presenting a beautifully crafted scenic installation, skillfully incorporating its latest releases.	Into the box at Moooi / Link . Inspired by the new photography concept by Marcel Wanders and Erwin Olaf, Moooi decides to offer a unique experience to the public of Il Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012 by inviting them inside the box for an interactive real time photo shoot.


Richard Schultz - returns to Knoll / Link . With outdoor furniture there is more freedom to be playful because of context. With interiors, form should not be so exuberant because you have a roomful of furniture.	Knoll - the Platner Collection / Link . Originally designed in 1966 by Warren Platner, the highly anticipated Easy Chair and Ottoman are made of finely-finished steel rods teamed with a variety of upholstery.


Jasper Morrison & Kettal / Link . My first outdoor collection and it has taken some time to get here because we needed to discover the right codes for Outdoor Furniture which is a category apart from other types of furniture.
