Kreon and Bartenbach Lichtlabor become “Official Partners”

The collaboration between both companies started in 2004, when Bartenbach has developed a highly efficient darklight reflector for Cadre.

After this successful project, several other sophisticated light solutions where developed. The partnership gives Kreon and Bartenbach Lichtlabor the opportunity to use each others’ knowledge.

This ensures that Kreon will keep on introducing new high-end light optics.

Bartenbach LichtLabor

The experts at Bartenbach LichtLabor focus on the design of lighting concepts and systems utilising both natural and artificial lighting from the initial concept right through to site supervision.

We also offer product development, advice for architectural and/or lighting competitions, workshops and appraisals. Our employees work in the fields of lighting design, research and development, perception psychology and model construction and collaborate to develop optimal lighting solutions.

Prof. Dr. h.c. Ing. Christian Bartenbach

History

In 1954 Christian Bartenbach established the development section within his parents lighting business “G.A. Bartenbach” in Innsbruck.

In 1960 Christian Bartenbach and his brother founded their own lighting manufacturing company “Leuchtenfabrik Bartenbach Lichtsysteme” in Innsbruck.

In 1964 he introduced the socalled “Dark-Light-Technique” better known as low brightness luminaires, that contributed to their commercial success during the energy crisis in Europe in the 1970-ties. At that time Christian Bartenbach also established his first lighting design practice in Munich, Germany called “Lichtplanung Christian Bartenbach”.

After a successful period in Munich Bartenbach returned to Austria and established Bartenbach LichtLabor in Aldrans near Innsbruck in 1989.

In 2002 the Centre of Competence LIGHT was established. This institution focuses on research and development related to light with the support of the Austrian Federal Government.

In 2003 follows the opening of the Bartenbach lighting Academy in Aldrans near Innsbruck.
