Salone Milan 2010 – Andy Rementer for Skitsch

SKITSCH have released a 24 page A5 catalog made with Apartamento magazine. The booklet features comics and illustrations ( by Andy Rementer ) all mingling with the products and designers of SKITSCH, an Italian furniture company based in Milano.

The Skitsch book was released at the new London SKITSCH store  March 25, 2010. It will also be included in Apartamento Issue #5 for the Salone. Instead of simply showcasing the product, Apartamento Magazine and Andy Rementer created a narrative based around a character, Mr. Bello, who gets to know the brand, pick up some furniture, meet the designers, and visited the store in London.

Various SKITSCH store products are interwoven into the story, and there are also four more traditional catalogue pages featuring photography of products included in the booklet.

“SKITSCH will be featuring many of the illustrations from the catalogue in their shop in Milan during the Salone del Mobile coming up this month. Large-scale prints, and a slideshow of the drawings will be on display in the shop.”

Andy Rementer grew up in southern New Jersey, USA, in a quiet town once free of Wal-Marts and strip-malls. From 2005-2007 he worked at Fabrica in northern Italy where he learned to appreciate the value of good food and not wearing sweatpants. Andy is a nine-to-five designer during the day, and an aspiring cartoonist on nights and weekends. He’s the author of a comic strip titled ‘Techno Tuesday’, which has appeared weekly online and in print since 2006. He currently resides in Philadelphia.
